Join The Journey
Walk softly to discover the Everglades. Listen in the stillness of the sawgrass. Struggle in the muck of a slough. Marvel in the magnitude of a cypress dome. Begin to understand.
In March 2014, a journalism class from the University of Connecticut traveled to South Florida. They spent time on a nature preserve on the Atlantic and then toured the Everglades from Lake Okeechobee to Florida Bay. They discovered an environment not only unique, but subtle. Come with them now on their adventure. Learn what is at stake. The lead story, a special assignment by Caitie Pamelee, can be found just below and also in the Recovery story box. Other student news stories, features and multimedia reports are above and to your right.
