Work and Dessert: Baseball and the Dairy Barn

In late August 2014, East Catholic High School (Man­ches­ter) base­ball play­er Joshua Zbier­s­ki (Class of 2015) was offered close to full schol­ar­ship to play catch­er at South­ern New Hamp­shire Uni­ver­si­ty in Hook­sett, NH.

Zbier­s­ki com­mit­ted to SNHU in ear­ly Sep­tem­ber to play catch­er. He will begin class­es at the uni­ver­si­ty in the fall of 2015.

Zbier­s­ki placed sec­ond this sum­mer in home runs for a TCB Pro­gram that has in the recent past pro­duced play­ers such as George Springer (Hous­ton Astros), Matt Barnes (Boston Red Sox), and L.J. Mazz­il­li (New York Mets).

Back in Storrs, the UConn Dairy Bar locat­ed near east cam­pus, receives over 200,000 vis­i­tors annually.

The Dairy Barn is cur­rent­ly open to cus­tomers from the hours 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The UConn Dairy Barn took home first place in the annu­al ACS Com­pe­ti­tion (Amer­i­can Cheese Society).
