“Just Like Heaven” is a song by the British alternative rock band The Cure. It was featured on the band’s 1987 album “Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me.” The song became The Cure’s first American hit when it reached number 40 on the Billboard charts in January 1988.

In 2007, Rolling Stone Magazine contributor Douglas Wolk listed “Just Like Heaven” at #34 on his list of “40 Songs that Changed the World,” writing:
“WHY IT MATTERS: It was actually the beginning of something else. Consider [lead singer] Robert Smith’s eyeliner and wild black hair, his pained moan, his tortured but hopeful romanticism; then think about where every emo band of the last fifteen years got its look and ideas.
WITHOUT THIS SONG, NO: Panic! at the Disco, Bright Eyes, Dashboard Confessional, teenage boys buying makeup.”
“Just Like Heaven” has been covered by numerous artists, including a grungy version by indie rock band Dinosaur Jr., and a slow acoustic version by singer Katie Melua that was featured in the 2005 movie of the same name starring Reese Witherspoon.
