The UConn women’s basketball team beat Temple 94–61 in the quarterfinal round of its final American Athletic Conference Tournament. The win moved the Huskies all-time AAC record to 137–0. Freshman Aubrey Griffin was the star of the game with 15 points and 16 rebounds while senior Crystal Dangerfield led all scorers with 22 points.

The UConn men’s basketball team faced off with the Villanova Wildcats for the final time as non-conference opponents. Unlike the previous two matchups, this game was tight throughout. UConn dominated in the paint, but Villanova’s superior three-point shooting was enough to give them the 61–55 win.

The UConn women’s basketball team punched a ticket to its 12th consecutive Final Four with a hard-fought 80–73 win over Louisville. The Huskies got their revenge from a loss to Louisville earlier in the season when it really counted behind a 29-point performance from Katie Lou Samuelson.

In the last 25 years, the game of football has greatly changed. NFL offenses don’t rely on a workhorse running back anymore and, as a result, such running backs have become nearly extinct.
As seen in the following chart, the late 1990s and 2000s were dominated by running backs carrying the ball over 300 times every season. In a few seasons, the number even hit double digits. But since 2013, there hasn’t been more than two running backs with that many carries.
With more of a focus on player safety today and the NFL becoming more of a quarterback league, this is far from a surprising development.
