The COVID-19 pan­dem­ic has caused numer­ous events, non-essen­tial busi­ness­es and schools to close or post­pone until fur­ther notice. In the fol­low­ing slideshow, school dis­tricts such as Glas­ton­bury and Dan­bury have seen mixed results when tran­si­tion­ing to online teaching.

Mil­lions of peo­ple have been fol­low­ing the CDC’s guide­lines about COVID-19, as there have been surges in online usage dur­ing the past month. As peo­ple are stuck at home, many are left with few options besides using tech­nol­o­gy to pass the time. In the past month, data for var­i­ous online indus­tries like video games and video stream­ing ser­vices have been released, which are pre­sent­ed in the fol­low­ing data visualization.

Over the past month, gro­cery stores saw a con­stant flow of cus­tomers enter­ing and leav­ing as the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic forced many to stock up on essen­tial items and stay inside. Because of high demands for such items like food and san­i­tary prod­ucts, many turn to local stores like High­land Park Mar­ket in Glas­ton­bury, CT when the larg­er chains start to run out. Gro­cery man­ag­er Tim Cum­miskey, as well as oth­er depart­ment man­agers, said man­u­fac­tur­ers are only able to ship a par­tic­u­lar amount in order to try and keep up with the demand.
