Prepare to be a better listener and better storyteller

After suc­cess­ful­ly com­plet­ing Intro­duc­tion to Pod­cast­ing you should be able to: 

  1. Iden­ti­fy, define, pitch, struc­ture, research and build a com­pelling audio story.
  2. Uti­lize audio equip­ment to col­lect high qual­i­ty sound and con­duct inter­views — ask­ing good ques­tions that result in what is need­ed to tell an audio story. 
  3. Write / edit an audio script and transcript
  4. Improve nar­ra­tive per­for­mance (read­ing for effect)
  5. Edit audio clips into a cohe­sive, engag­ing nar­ra­tive using Adobe Audition.
  6. Export and upload mul­ti-track audio con­tent onto a web server.
  7. Explain the his­to­ry of pod­casts and pod­cast indus­try trends, stan­dards, ethics and practices.
  8. Crit­i­cal­ly eval­u­ate pod­casts for their jour­nal­is­tic qual­i­ty and over­all engage­ment level.
  9. Cre­ate a pod­cast RSS feed and sub­mit to index­es such as iTunes, Google Play, Spo­ti­fy and Stitcher.
  10. Cre­ate accom­pa­ny­ing web pages and social media con­tent to pro­mote pod­casts, devel­op listenership/audience, under­stand met­rics, mon­e­tize.
