Executive Order 14167: “Clarifying the Military’s Role in Protecting the Territorial Integrity of the United States”

This exec­u­tive order states that the U.S. Armed Forces must pri­or­i­tize the “pro­tec­tion of the sov­er­eign­ty and ter­ri­to­r­i­al integri­ty of the Unit­ed States along our nation­al bor­ders.” To do this, the exec­u­tive order says the defense department’s North­ern Com­mand must seal the bor­der to block mass immi­gra­tion, nar­cotics and human traf­fick­ing and oth­er crim­i­nal activ­i­ties.
