Previously known as Kara’s Flowers in 1997, the band had little success breaking out in the music industry. However in 1999 with a name change, a new record deal and  the addition of guitarist James Valentine, Maroon 5 rocketed to fame.

The band released their debut album “Songs About Jane” in 2003 and it became an instant success. With top hits like “She Will Be Loved,” “Sunday Morning,” “Harder To Breathe” and “This Love,” Maroon 5 sold nearly 2.7 million copies of the album in a year.

With their hybrid rock and R&B sound, the band grabbed a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005 and continued their success ever since.  Despite edging away from their rock and R&B sound for a while to become more mainstream, their latest album was considered to go back to their roots to more of a “Songs About Jane” feel.

Six albums later and Maroon 5 is stronger than ever. Lead singer Adam Levine joined the popular television show “The Voice,” and has continued into stardom. He was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive  in 2013 and started his own fashion line for women with Kmart in 2014, bringing more success to the band with his prominence.

Sunday Morning” and Maroon 5’s first album in general brought back the successful boy band with a twist. With all of their success, Maroon 5 looks like they are hotter than ever and will be popular for years to come.
