Storyteller | Traveler | Conversationalist

Exploring the docks of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy. March 2018.

I’m a storyteller.

Whether it be during an interview or a casual conversation, I never hesitate to exchange stories with people whom I encounter.

I’m a traveler.

If plane tickets were free, you would find me in a different country every week. The world is too big for us to stick around in one place.

I’m a conversationalist.

I believe in the power of talking with anyone and everyone. It never ceases to amaze me where a simple chat can lead.

I’m proud of my roots.

As a descendant of European immigrants, another important part of me is my heritage. I take great pride in knowing where I come from and believe it’s essential to help me know where I’m going.

Those are defining traits of who I am as an individual. But let’s not forget the more “formal” details.

I graduated from the University of Connecticut in May 2019 with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science.

My journalistic experience ranges from creating a feature video about sustainable agriculture to writing an article about U.S. institutions controversially holding on to lost religious manuscripts from Greece.

To see more of my work, please refer to the “Written Work” and “Video Work” tabs under the “Portfolio” section.

My skillset includes software such as Adobe Premier, Audition and Lightroom, among others. I am also highly proficient in DSLR photography. To see samples of my photography, please visit my Instagram profile — @dardenography.

Last but certainly not least, I’m multilingual and can communicate fluently in three languages — English, Spanish and Greek. If you’re wondering how, I would be glad to tell you my story… in any of the three languages of course!
